Creative warriors unite

In Art, Communication, Creative, Design, Inspire, Learning on June 28, 2013 at 12:33 am

I’ve used that term before. The creative warrior. Why? Because being a creative, it can sometimes be a lonely world.

We’re the dreamers with our heads in the clouds. We’re the poets time forgot. We’re the dancers with music in our veins. We’re the producers for which life is a movie. We’re the visionaries no one gets. We’re the abstracts who see depth into everything. And let’s face it, until you are discovered, you’re just that other person who sees things differently from the rest.

But it’s the creatives who push boundaries, open avenues, trail pathways, and make you think.

And we make you feel.

So what drives us?

Inspiration, where art thou?

In Art, Communication, Copywriting, Creative, Design, Inspire, Writing on April 17, 2013 at 12:05 am

People often ask me where I get my inspiration from.

So today, I thought I’d share.

Two simple tips.

One. A notebook. Or your iPhone. Or any device you can write, note, or record your thoughts down, into, or on.

Two. Your senses.

The look

In Art, Creative, Inspire on February 7, 2013 at 1:08 pm

There is some absolutely mind-blowingly creative talent out there.

I came across this one wandering through the city today. So hot, I had to share it immediately.

It literally stopped me dead in my tracks rushing en route to my destination in the heart of the bustle of my day.

The attention to detail is insane. That look in her eyes. Haunts you for days.

She jumps the queue of blogs I had lined up for the month.

This is the kind of creative talent that inspires us to do what we do. Whatever it is that we do.

The Tinman

In Art, Creative, Inspire on January 25, 2013 at 10:34 pm

On another blog site, I wrote a blog about The Tinman. For those of you who follow or read my varied blog sites, you’d recognize the piece I speak of.

And as it turns out, while that blog was in creation, I stumbled on this little gem while out in search of coffee one day.

What a crazy coincidence! Here’s the Tinman on a quest for a heart

This one joins my list of favorites. Another delicious little number hiding in a forgotten alleyway.

The King of Hearts

In Art, Creative, Inspire on January 12, 2013 at 4:57 am

Some of the best urban street art works are in the most obscure places. I stumbled upon this one while out one day taking a short cut through the city. I would never have seen it had I not, on impulse, turned a corner. And ended up randomly smack in the middle of a forgotten laneway filled with such graffiti.

But this one made me gasp.

The attention to detail in this one is truly amazing. I wonder how long it took the artist. Or if he or she had any idea how many lives they’ve touched.

Simply from a creative expression of self.

I call this gem ‘The King of Hearts’. It’s easily one of my favorite works, along with ‘The Urban Dragon’ some blogs back. Enjoy!

The urban dragon

In Art, Creative, Inspire on November 17, 2012 at 11:58 am

I stumbled across this little gem while wandering through the city today. A creative outburst of color, shape, and form. Even freeform is a type of form.

I’m not sure who did it or when it was done, but I call this one ‘The Urban Dragon’.

There’s a ton of little bursts of creativity out there that can inspire you on a daily basis. All you have to do is seek. And you shall find.
